Redshirt freshman quarterback Trent Hosick, from Staley High School in Kansas City, is transferring from Mizzou with a log jam at that position. He took to twitter to thank Coach Gary Pinkel and wish the team the luck as he pursues other opportunities to win a starting job. Hosick was 4 of 9 for 107 yards and a touchdown in the Black and Gold Game, this past Saturday.

Hosick was listed fourth on the depth chart behind projected starter Maty Mauk, junior Corbin Berkstresser and fellow redshirt freshman Eddie Prinz.  With incoming freshman Marvin Zanders showing some of his abilities on Saturday, Hosick found himself the odd-man out.

In his letter, Hosick said via Twitter, “A scholarship for the chance to pursue a lifelong dream is truly a blessing. I want to give a public thank you to Coach Pinkel for being a wonderful leader, a thank you to my teammates that I will miss, and a thank you to MIZZOU fans for supporting us.”
