Governor Nixon has put all of Missouri under a state of emergency.

He says widespread severe weather systems are spreading across the state and will keep coming .

At least one tornado has hit–damaging twenty houses in University City. Flash flooding is extensive and some water rescues have been reported.

He has activated the State Emergency Operations Center, which will be working with local governments to respond to emergencies.

NIxon urges Missourians to pay close attention to weather conditions and be ready to take shelter, move to higher ground, or take other steps to stay safe.
