Helias Catholic was trailing by three with the ball late in the third overtime, but Republic’s Cody Geiger came up with a steal and dunk to send the Tigers back to the Class 4 title game after a 67-62 win Friday night in a Class 4 semifinal contest. Republic will face Lafayette-St. Joseph on Saturday at 8:10, after their 46-41 victory over Farmington.
On the girl’s side, Dexter topped Benton 54-21 and will face Incarnate Word Academy who improved to 30-1 with an impressive 59-33 win over Marshfield. They’ve won their three state games by a combined 87 points. The girls championship tips at 6:20 p.m.
