With yesterday’s win, Missouri is now 22-10 overall this season and 4-1 on a neutral court, and faces #1 Florida in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament.
Notes from yesterday’s win over Texas A & M, plus a preview of today’s matchup with the Gators.
-Junior Keanau Post earned his first career start and it was the first time that Missouri has made a change to the starting lineup all season. Ryan Rosburg came off the bench, but did start the second half for Mizzou.
-With 26 points in the game, Jabari Brown now has 991 points in his career (979 as a Tiger). He’s just nine points away from reaching 1,000 points for his career and 21 shy of 1,000 in just two seasons as a Tiger. The last Tiger to score 1,000 points in two seasons was DeMarre Carroll who finished with 1,046 points in 70 games. Carroll of course is a standout for the Atlanta Hawks.
-Missouri has been in a number of tight ball games this season, 21 of the last 25 games have been decided by 10 points are less.
-The Tigers have controlled opponents on the glass this season. Today’s 48-rebound effort was the 21st time the Tigers have outrebounded their opponent (Texas A&M had 28 boards).
-The 48 rebounds by Mizzou was a season high. The Tigers also had 19 offensive boards, their second highest total of 2013-14.
