The Dallas Stars, playing a game the night after their contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets was be postponed after the cardiac incident involving forward Rich Peverley, traveled to St. Louis and came away with two points after defeating the Blues, 3-2 in overtime.

Alex Pietrangelo and Roman Polak scored for the Blues. Ryan Miller made 27 saves and lost for the first time in five starts since being acquired from the Buffalo Sabres on Feb. 28. Tim Thomas stopped 28 shots in his first start with Dallas after being acquired in a trade. Jamie Benn’s goal with 1:18 remaining in overtime gave the Stars a 3-2 victory at Scottrade Center.

With 65 games played, the Blues have a five-point lead over Chicago for the Central Division (95 to 90). The Blues also hold a two-point lead over Anaheim for the Western Conference edge. The Hawks and Ducks have also played 65 games.
