Top seed Central Missouri shot .566 from the field as they defeated ninth seed Northeastern State 79-65 in the quarterfinal round of the MIAA Tournament. UCM led by just two at halftime, but got seven second half three pointers to advance to the semi-final round.

For the Jennies BreAnna Lewis led the way with 21 points and seven rebounds and Keuna Flax had 17 points and eight boards. Shelby Winkelmann had 16 points and Quinnecia Twine finished with 12 points on the afternoon. For the RiverHawks Chelsey Beathard led the way with 15 points and also added five assists. Fontana Tate added 10 points and pulled down eight boards while Che’Ron Lewis had 10 points.

Central Missouri advances to face #5 Fort Hays State at 12:00 p.m. on March 8 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.

Eleventh seed Southwest Baptist got a last second shot to pull off a 67-65 upset of third seed Pittsburg State. SBU trailed by six with 2:13 to play in the game and scored nine of the last ten points to advance to the semi-final.

For the Bearcats Jacqui Zelenka had 19 points and pulled down a game high eight rebounds. Lissette Plasencia scored 18 points and Alex Botkin had 10 points including the last five points of the game. For the Gorillas Antqunita Reed scored 16 points and added five rebounds. Lizzy Jeronimus had 13 points and pulled down seven boards and Cathy Brugman added 11 points.

Southwest Baptist will face second seed Emporia State at 2:15 p.m. on March 8 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.

Fifth seeded Fort Hays State shot .421 from the three-point line as they upset fourth seeded Missouri Southern 78-57 in the MIAA Tournament quarterfinal. FHSU hit eight three pointers and shot .436 from the field overall as they advance to the semi finals.

For the Tigers Beth Bohuslavsky led the way scoring 15 points while Tera Ingalsbe added 14 points. Kate Lehman has 13 points and Chelsea Mason added 11 points while on the glass Katelyn Edwards had 10 rebounds. For the Lions Dominique Mosley led the way with 13 points and Sharese Jones pulled down eight rebounds. Alexis Fitzpatrick had 11 points and Nicole Hartzog finished with 11 points on the afternoon.
