Corey Walden scored 17 points and No. 3 Eastern Kentucky (22-9) made 10 three-pointers en route to a 84-76 victory over No. 6 Southeast Missouri (18-14) Thursday night in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament quarterfinals. Both teams entered the contest riding significant winning streaks. EKU won its final four regular season games while Southeast Missouri (18-14) was riding a five-game winning streak and had won seven of eight overall.

Southeast turned the ball over on three of its first four possessions and missed seven of its first eight field goals. The Redhawks, who never led in the game, went scoreless for 4:37 after the opening tip until Tyler Stone’s layup stopped the drought with 15:23 remaining. He finished with 17, scoring 15 in the second half.

Southeast Missouri is now 10-12 all-time in the OVC Tournament. The Redhawks are 4-4 in tournament games under head coach Dickey Nutt.
