Five Missouri Tiger backups–Offensive linemen Michael Boddie from Gilmer TX and Nick Demien from Timberland High School in Wentzville, along with safety Daniel Easterly from Detroit, MI., Xavier Smith from Edmond, OK., and running back Greg White from DeQueen, AR. are leaving the football program.

White played in three games this past season, getting nine touches. Smith played in 28 games and last got into a game against Indiana. Easterly played on special teams mostly, appearing in over 20 games and the two lineman saw very limited action in no more than three games.

Demien, (pronounced duh-MEAN) the lone Missouri native, chose Mizzou over several schools including Oklahoma, Nebraska, Oregon, Wisconsin, Florida State and Arkansas before the 2010 season.  The 6’6, 300 pound senior to be did not play at all of 2013. He was rated as the overall number one prospect in the state of Missouri coming out of high school.

Mizzou begins their spring practices next Tuesday (3/11), with five practice leading up to spring break. The team will resume practices on Tuesday, April 1 and hold two scrimmages leading up to the Black and Gold game on Saturday, April 19th.
