David and Kelly Backes with their two new friends from Sochi.

Two feel good stories before we head into the weekend. The first comes from Arnold, Missouri, in South County St. Louis. Fox High School and Windsor High School are fierce rivals in girls’ basketball.  However on Monday night, Fox head coach Jeremy Donald set aside that rivalry to give Kaylee Johnson, the captain of the Windsor team, one final shot.

Our second story comes from the Olympics. You heard about Sochi’s stray dog problem and how Russia was handling the situation. St. Louis Blues captain David Backes and his wife Kelly, saw first hand the situation in Russia. Kelly really wanted to raise awareness to some of the mistreatment of animals and after two male pups befriended the Backeses during their time around the Olympic Village, Kelly decided it was time to bring them back to the United States.
