Vancouver Canucks backup goalie Eddie Lack made all 20-saves including some big time stops in the second period to help shutout the Blues 1-0, as NHL play started back up on Wednesday night.

The Blues took 11-shots on goal in the second and Lack came up big on at least four different occasions, stopping tip-ins, one-timers and a 2-on-1 break. The Blues only got three shots off in the third as Vancouver’s defense tightened up.

The lone goal of the game off Blues netmider Jaroslav Halak came in the third when Jannick Hansen outskated two Blues defenders on a dump-in and beat Halak with a quick wrist shot. Halak made 34 saves in the losing effort.

Alexander Edler of the Canucks tries to deliver a check on Ryan Reeves and misses. Edler’s head takes the brunt of the missed check.
