The state senate has voted to put Missouri above various federal gun laws. Another vote on the bill is needed to send the bill to the House.

Added to the bill is a provision requiring school districts to hold public hearings about whether to have an armed school safety officer. Senator Jason Holsman of Kansas City lets the board decide how the officer should be armed.

His idea is part of a bigger bill that claims Missouri can pick and choose what federal gun laws and regulations its citizens should follow, and allows the arrest of federal agents who come to Missouri to enforce laws and regulations the bill says violate the federal constitution. The bill could be sent to the House by the end of the week.
