One of my biggest sports pet peeves comes from those of you who bad mouth the Olympics. You complain about the events being boring or the time change and needing to watch stuff on time delay.  Try having an open mind.  You may find a new and interesting sport like curling, moguls or women’s hockey.

What I love about the Olympics is you have athletes who dominate in their sport, yet many come from humble beginnings and when they do become successful, they pay it back.

You may have missed the story of Shaun White and what he did for Ben Hughes, from St. Louis. You also may have missed the inspiring story of Canadian skier Alex Bilodeau and his brother.

I enjoy the Olympics so much, I find myself setting my DVR and losing track of time when I’m watching the games. Plus, where else can you find a beer vending machine that only opens to your home country’s passport?  See what I’m talking about. This is awesome.
