The Blues came back from deficits of 2-0 and 3-2 and T.J. Oshie earned the Blues a point when he scored with 27 seconds left in regulation. Then the Blues won the shootout and earned a 4-3 win over the New York Islanders.

New York appeared to have won the game with 1:15 left in OT, when Thomas Vanek redirected a shot past Halak. The goal was sent back to Toronto for a lengthy video review, and it was determined Vanek had kicked the puck over the goal line with his left skate. Vanek disagreed.

“My foot was on the ice the whole time,” he said. “It hit my skate blade and spun right in.”

Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice and Jaroslav Halak made 33 saves for the victory. Alexander Steen had two assists and scored in the second round of the shootout.
