Saint Louis senior guard Jordair Jett scored 17 points and eight assists as the Billikens knocked off Vanderbilt 57-49 Monday night in Nashville, TN.  It was the sixth win a row for Saint Louis, which improves to 12-2. It was also SLU’s fourth road victory in the non-conference season, the first time since 1993-94 the Billikens were 4-0 in non-conference road tilts. Vanderbilt falls to 7-4 on the year.

Jett’s 17 points, a season high, came on 6-of-8 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. He pulled down four boards, dished out eight assists and recorded two steals. Jett sparked a rally with less than eight minutes to go that helped carry the Bills to victory. He hit a layin, and followed with a steal on the other end and dished to Rob Loe on a fast break, who slammed it home to make the score 40-39. Jett again fed Loe seconds later to give the Bills a 41-40 lead with 6:51 to go.

After four Vandy free throws, SLU took control with a 12-0 run.  SLU held Vandy to a season-low shooting mark of 33.9 percent. Vandy’s top 3-point shooter, Rod Odom, was held to a season-low six points and an 0-for-8 mark from beyond the arc.

Saint Louis returns to action Saturday, Jan. 4, against Yale.
