Secretary of State Jason Kander is warning Missouri businesses that a Michigan company is trying to pull another fast one on them. The company, Corporate Records Service, has sent official-looking envelopes telling businesses they have to file annual records through that company and pay a $125 fee.
Kander says it’s all a lie. He says that company is not affiliated with any state agency and businesses do not have to file annual minutes or pay fees to companies like Corporate Records Service.
Kander has referred the issue to the Attorney General. The same company tried a similar scam last March. The Attorney General forced it to repay all funds it collected.
Kander says any business getting the letter, or wanting more information about what the Secretary of state DOES require can call 866-223-6535.
