Let’s hope the Chiefs were holding something back against Indianapolis on Sunday as the Colts marched into Arrowhead and stole the show with a 23-7 win. Its possible we could be seeing these two teams square off in two weeks in the first round of the playoffs.
Donald Brown took a dump off pass from Andrew Luck and scampered 33 yards for a touchdown and then outran the Chiefs secondary on a draw play for 51 yards, leading to both Indy touchdowns.
Brown had a season-high 110 yards from scrimmage on 12 touches (10 rushes for 79 yards and two catches for 31 yards. What’s more concerning should there be a rematch, Brown is averaging 5.6 yards per rush this season, an average that ranks second best in the NFL.
Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith went back to looking ordinary after this five TD performance against Oakland last week. Smith was just 8-of-17 for 103 yards and two interceptions on throws that went just five yards past the line of scrimmage! Smith was 1-of-6 for 16 yards on throws at least 15 yards downfield.
