Three people from the north-central Missouri town of Moberly are in custody in Idaho for kidnapping.

Police in Meridian, Idaho say Korey MacDonald of Moberly had arranged to visit her 5-year-old son, who lives with his father in Meridian. When the father and son showed up at an arranged meeting place, MacDonald’s husband and brother used a taser on the father. The three Missourians then took the boy and left. An Idaho state trooper caught up with them when they stopped at a gas station.

Korey MacDonald, her husband Jonathan and her brother Joshua Reeves are charged with kidnapping. The two men also face battery charges.

The boy was returned to his father Saturday night.
