Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week, following the team’s 45-10 win over the Washington Redskins on Sunday. Hali tied for the team lead with six tackles/five solo stops with Brandon Flowers. Hali also recorded three tackles for loss, two sacks and two quarterback hits.

For the season, Hali is tied with Justin Houston for 11-team sacks and leads the team with four fumbles. His sack total accounts for just over 1/4 of the team’s total sacks and his fumbles account for 36% of the team’s forced fumbles this season.

Hali and the Chiefs defense held Washington to 257 yards and forced Mike Shanahan, who is on the hot seat, to make a change at QB this week, by replacing Robert Griffin III with Kirk Cousins.
