For the second straight season Central Missouri and Nebraska-Kearney will face off for the MIAA Volleyball Tournament Championship. The seeds will be reversed this year as UNK, who came in as the top seed last year, will be the three seed, and Central Missouri is the tournament’s top seed after being third last year.

The Jennies advances to the title with a 3-0 win over Central Oklahoma. The Jennies were led by Taylor Goodness who had 14 kills and hit .367 on the night. Carly Sojka hit .375 with 11 kills and six digs. Julia Bates led the way with 32 assists and Annie Reilly added 14 digs.

Taylor Goodness leads the was on the season for the Jennies averaging 4.06 kills per set and hitting .304 on the attack. MIAA Player of the Year Julia Bates is averaging a team best 11.06 assists per set. On the return Annie Reilly is averaging 5.39 digs per set and Haley Thompson is averaging 0.82 blocks per set.

The Lopers earned their way into the championship game with a 3-1 victory over Washburn. For the Lopers Kinslie TeKolste led all hitters with 16 kills adding three total blocks. Ashley Leitner hit .355 for the match with 12 kills joined by Katie Sokolowski who also finished with 12 kills. Erin Seele had a team best 43 assists and Liz McGowan added 27 digs.

On the season Ashley Leitner is leading the UNK attack averaging 3.54 kills per set and Katie Sokolowski is averaging 2.85 kills per set and hitting .314 on the year. Erin Seele is the team’s primary setter averaging 11.28 assists per set. On the return MJ Massanet is averaging 3.99 digs per set and Bailey Sokolowski is averaging 0.91 blocks per set.

First serve on Nov. 23 is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Warrensburg, Mo.
