I wasn’t around in 1963.  I didn’t come along until eight years later, but one thing that always stuck with me as I grew up was the emotion that people shared when they recounted where they were on this day, that year, when they first heard the news that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.  I can only imagine that the emotions and feelings were the same that I felt during the Challenger disaster in 1986 and of course what happened to us on 9/11.

Old tapes from Dallas radio station WBAP were recovered a few years ago from their on-air broadcast that day. Today they are replaying their broadcast tapes as the day unfolded.  If you want to hear the rebroadcast of their live coverage of the President’s stop in Dallas, click here.
