Chiefs wide receiver Dwayen Bowe was arrested for speeding and possession.

Chiefs’ wide receiver Dwayne Bowe was arrested on Tuesday morning for speeding and possession of marijuana.  Bowe was arrested in Riverside, Missouri for going 48 in a 35 MPH in his 2011 Audi A-8, just after midnight.  According to a Riverside police statement, an officer reported detecting a strong odor of marijuana while questioning Bowe.  The officer asked Bowe and two other passengers to step out of the car while a K-9 officer sniffed out a black bag that held two containers that had close to seven and four grams of pot in them.   Bowe was then placed under arrest for the possession of a controlled substance.

Bowe was taken to jail and charged with speeding and possession and released on $750 bond.

The Chiefs are aware of the situation but aren’t commenting further.  The Chiefs are coming off their bye week getting ready for a Sunday night matchup with the Denver Broncos for first place in the AFC West.
