Missouri Tiger quarterback Maty Mauk was named SEC freshman of the week after leading #9 Mizzou (#8 BCS) on the road past Kentucky by a score of 48-17. Mauk tied Mizzou’s school record for touchdown passes in a game with his five scoring throws, matching Chase Daniel’s record. (Daniel accomplished the feat four times in his Mizzou career).

Mauk finished the game with 203 yards passing. Four of his five TD passes went to wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham. Mauk is now 3-1 as a starter in relief of injured senior co-captain QB James Franklin.

Following the Kentucky, Mizzou head coach Gary Pinkel told the Tiger Network that Franklin should be ready to start against Ole Miss.
