Mizzou women’s basketball opened with their first win of the season at Saint Louis in a 74-59 victory over the Billikens, led by freshman Kayla McDowell. She picked up her first-career double-double, finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds. McDowell has seven points in the first half and another freshman, Jordan Frericks added six rebounds in the first half. Mizzou dominated SLU inside, outscoring the Billikens 18-4 in the paint, during the opening 20 minutes. The Tigers held onto a 39-35 lead at the break.

SLU kept the game close, but the Tigers were able to make 21 of 23 free throws to pull out the win.
