Mizzou’s defense to get extra help from E.J. (VIDEO)

November 1, 2013 By Bill Pollock

The 10th ranked Mizzou Tigers (7-1 overall, 3-1 in Southeastern Conference play) wrap up a three-game homestand tomorrow when they host the Tennessee Volunteers (4-4 overall, 1-3 SEC) at Faurot Field/Memorial Stadium. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN and is set for a 6 p.m. kickoff.  Let’s see how the Tigers rebound from that fourth quarter debacle to South Carolina.

The Tigers jumped to a 14-0 halftime lead, and led 17-0 into the fourth quarter, only to see Connor Shaw come off the bench and with one leg,  comeback to force overtime on a touchdown pass with just :42 seconds left in regulation. Mizzou eventually loss 27-24 in double overtime.  The secondary was exposed late in that game, but should get a boost with the return of senior captain E.J. Gaines.
