His teammates were telling me last week, that Maty Mauk would come in do a good job at quarterback against Florida. I admit, I was a little skeptical. This was Florida’s defense. I wouldn’t say Mauk had a great game, but he certainly had a good game. More important than the numbers or even breaking down his decisions…he looks confident. When a quarterback plays with confidence, they’ll be successful more times than not.

Mauk tells me he’s a lot more comfortable. He says he’s nerve free, doesn’t have to worry about the fans and can just be himself against South Carolina. When you watch his response, you can see a grin come across his face as he looks back on his first two passes in the Florida.  He admits that quick score boosted his confidence.
