Missourinet Mornings–SEC recap, Mizzou controls their own destiny

October 21, 2013 By Bill Pollock

The Missouri Tigers have a two game advantage in the loss column over South Carolina, Florida and Georgia and with head to head wins over two of those teams, essentially a three game cushion on the Gators and Bulldogs. A win this week over Steve Spurrier’s Gamecocks would basically finish off USC’s hopes of an SEC Eastern Division title.

Mizzou controls their own destiny and it doesn’t really matter whether the Tigers are 3rd, 4th, 5th or lower in the BCS Standings. As long as Alabama stays at the top and the Tigers take care of business on their end, a game in Atlanta in early December and some type of major BCS bowl game await.
