Mizzou at Georgia 1st Quarter Summary

October 12, 2013 By Missourinet Sports

-Missouri receives the opening kickoff and starts at their own 25 yard line.  Franklin hits Green-Beckham for a first down but then the drive stalls and the Tigers punt.

-Georgia gets one completion from Murray to Green for 3 yards but the Mizzou defense forces the Bulldogs to punt after getting a stop on 3rd and 7

-After starting a drive at their own 23 yard line the Tigers advance the ball to the Georgia 42 yard line on a 28 yard pass to Marcus Lucas.  The drive would sputter when Franklin is sacked for the second time in the game and Mizzou is forced to punt from the Bulldogs 49 yard line.

-Georgia begins their next possession at their own 14 yard line and they commit to the running game and with the help of a pair of Tigers offside penalties and a pass interference penalty the Bulldogs go 86 yards in 12 plays and take 5:43 off the clock and score on an Aaron Murray to Brendan Douglas 7 yard touchdown pass.  With 3:44 left in the quarter the Bulldogs take a 7-0 lead

-The Tigers start at their own 21 yard line and they mount a 9 play 79 yard drive capped by a 5 yard touchdown run by James Franklin.  The Tiger quarterback also had a 16 yard run on the drive and  completed passes to Sasser, Lucas, and Washington.  Game tied 7-7 with 1:00 left in the quarter.

-The Bulldogs start at their own 15 yard line and they can’t gain a first down.  They face 4th and 3 as the quarter ends.
