Man says he might have exposed more than 300 to HIV

A Southeast Missouri man faces more than 20 charges for exposing 4 sex partners to HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, and he says he may have exposed more than 300 other people to it.

David Mangum

David Mangum was arrested after a former partner told police he lied about his infected status. That partner has tested positive for HIV.

Mangum tells police he has had sexual enounters with hundreds of people he met online or in parks since being diagnosed in 2003.

Knowingly exposing someone to HIV without their consent is a felony that carries up to 15 years in prison. Infecting someone can result in a life term.
