One thing for sure–Toledo will show up to play (Google Hangout)

September 6, 2013 By Bill Pollock

Toledo hung tough with the Gators but could not overcome Florida’s stingy defense and efficent offense. The Rockets only trailed 17-6 in the third quarter, but an interception by Florida’s Vernon Hargreaves off Rockets QB Terrance Owens at the Toledo 38-yard line set up a touchdown and sealed the game.

Toledo’s young defense held Florida to 24 points and 415 yards of offense. Toledo forced two fumbles as well. Junior cornerback Cheatham Norrils had a strip and recovery, and senior defensive end Jayrone Elliott also caused a fumble on a sack that ended a drive.

Mark Beier, the voice of Toledo football, joins me on the phone on this Google Hangout. He tells us that regardless of the score, Toledo will come into Columbia, Mo., looking for a fight under first year coach, 33-year old Matt Campbell.
