Missouri figitive Brian Adkison has been caught inside a nursing home in Westlake, Ohio.

Adkison escaped from the Caldwell County jail in Kingston August 10th. He was being held for kidnapping, domestic assault, and violating a protection order.

He was spotted hear a Westlake, Ohio hotel yesterday but eluded authorities. Earlier today he was seen bicycling along a road and fled into some woods. He was caught inside a nursing home a short time afterwards and was arrested after a brief struggle. Westlake police captain Guy Turner tells the Missourinet he is being uncooperative and won’t speak to officers.

Adkison is accused of kidnaping his ex-girlfriend in June and raping her. He led law enforcement officers on a five-day chase at the Lake of the Ozarks before he was caught.

Adkison was spotted in Westlake, a Cleveland suburb, asleep in a pickup truck stolen in West Virgnia yesterday morning. He fled on foot after police stopped the truck with spike strips in the road.

Turner says information found in the truck helped police identify him and get information from Missouri. Adkison’s picture was put on television in the Cleveland area, leading to a citizen report this morning that he was seen walking along a road. He later apparently stole a bicycle and rode it through some woods trying to escape.

Turner says he has some scratches and some bruises from his struggle with a Westlake police officer. Turner says the people in the nursing home apparently were not in harm’s way.
