Governor orders flags to half-staff to honor fallen soldier

Governor Jay Nixon has ordered all U-S and Missouri flags flown at state buildings throughout the state be flown at half-staff on Thursday, September 5th in honor of fallen soldier Private First Class Jonathon M.D. Hostetter. Private Hostetter died August 23rd in Afghanistan; his funeral is tomorrow. The 20-year-old was a native of Humphreys, in Sullivan County–Governor Nixon has ordered that the U-S and Missouri flags in that county be flown at half-staff from September 6th to September 11th. Hostetter was assigned to the 40th Engineer Company, 2nd Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico.
