Missourinet Mornings–Boxing champ Tommy Morrison dead at 44 (VIDEO)

September 3, 2013 By Bill Pollock Leave a Comment

Former Heavyweight champion Tommy Morrison died on Sunday at the age of 44. In 1997, he tested positive for HIV…his mother told ESPN about a month ago, he was dying of AIDS. Morrison is from Oklahoma but moved to Kansas City to train for boxing and won his first fight back in 1989.

Morrison was 45-3-1 with 42 knockouts in his career and beat George Foreman for the WBO heavyweight title. You’ll also remember, he played Tommy Gunn in the movie Rocky V. I found some videos of Morrison and Gunn. Check them out on this latest Missourinet Mornings video.
