Here is a summary of the 2nd quarter of the Murray St at Mizzou game from Faurot Field

The Tigers had the ball to open the quarter but would fail to score after a drive that reached the Racers 22 yard line when Andrew Baggett misses a 39 yard field goal.

On Murray State’s first possession of the quarter Missouri cornerback EJ Gaines intercepts a pass setting the Tigers up at the Murray St 33 yard line.

Mizzou then needs just 3 plays to get into the end zone when James Franklin connects with Jimmy Hunt on a 22 yard touchdown pass to give the Tigers a 20-14 lead.

Murray State’s next possession results in a punt and Missouri takes over at their own 18 yard line.

Marcus Murphy then caps a 13 play 82 yard drive with a 4 yard touchdown run and Mizzou goes up 27-14

The Racers are forced to punt again by the Missouri defense and the Tigers start their next drive at their own 21 yard line.

After Mizzou is unable to move the ball they punt to the Racers who start a drive at their own 7 yard line with 2:37 left in the first half but once again the Missouri defense gets the job done and forces another Murray St punt.

The Tigers take over with :41 seconds left in the quarter and they get into field goal range for Andrew Baggett who is good from 43 yards out to put Mizzou up 30-14 at the half.
