The Rams (1-3) avoided their first winless preseason since 2002 on Chase Reynolds’ 17-yard touchdown catch from Austin Davis with 2:40 to go. The Rams defense sealed the win when Drew Thomas intercepted third-stringer Caleb Hanie at the 4 yard line in the final minute. Davis finished with two touchdown passes. The Rams beat the Baltimore Ravens 24-21.
The Rams, who were 7-8-1 last season, open at home against Arizona Sept. 8. Their minds were obviously focused on that game. The Rams were whistled for 113 yards in penalties and turned the ball over on each of their first two possessions to start the game. Brian Quick and Austin both fumbled after 14-yard catches.
Fisher opened with just a few starters, including both first-round draft picks. Austin at wideout and linebacker Alec Ogletree, who had two tackles.
