Three homers power Royals past Twins

August 29, 2013 By Bill Pollock

Alex Gordon homered and catcher Salvador Perez went deep twice driving in four runs and Billy Butler picked up two RBIs as the offense backed Danny Duffy in his third start with the big league club, for an 8-1 win over the Minnesota Twins.

For Perez, it was his first multi-homer game of his career and he has torn up Twins pitchers. In 15 games against the Twins this season, Perez is hitting .410 with four doubles, three homers and nine RBIs.

Duffy was called up from the minors to replace Wade Davis in the rotation. Duffy (2-0) allowed five hits and struck out seven in his third start with the Royals since having elbow surgery last June.
