Phil Kornblut, from South Carolina Radio Network and Sportstalksc.com, sets the stage for us as the 6th ranked Gamecocks take on North Carolina. Mizzou faced the Tar Heels the day after Christmas is 2011 beating UNC in the Independence Bowl. Last year in Mizzou’s first SEC road game, USC dominated the Tigers 31-10.
The Gamecocks are picked to finish just behind Georgia in the SEC East but some, including Phil, thinks Steve Spurrier can get his team over the hump. He’ll break down this once bitter rivalry and share more on USC as their season begins tonight.
