Another shaky outing for Jake Westbrook this afternoon in Milwaukee, but the Cardinals hold on for an 8-6 win at Miller Park. Westbrook was spotted a 7-0 lead after two innings, but gave up five runs, four earned and left in the fifth inning after just 75 pitches.

Allen Craig doubled in a run off Brewers starter Tom Gorzelanny in the first. Then in the second, homers by Craig and Carlos Beltran led to six runs on a total five hits. Westbrook then gave up a three-run homer to Aramis Ramirez in the third, and two RBI singles in the fifth.

Each team tacked on a run in the ninth. Matt Holliday and Logan Schafer each homered.
