If you’re a Cardinals fan, you have plenty to be excited about. A 2.5 game lead over Pittsburgh, best offense in the National League. These next couple of weeks are going to say a lot about the race in the National League Central. The Cardinals have a tough road trip that will take them to first place Atlanta, to Pittsburgh for five and Cincinnati for three.

If you’re a Royals fan, these next two weeks will determine whether or not you keep an eye on the ball club in September or if you will be fully engrossed in Andy Reid’s first season with the Chiefs. 15 of the Royals next 19 games come against teams that are a combined 51 games under the .500 mark. At 48-51, the Royals not only have a chance to get to an even record, but they could overtake second place in the Central and be within striking distances of Detroit with a better than .500 record. If they are going to do it…now is the time.

Plus, George Brett stepped down as hitting coach. Let’s hear from him and watch his meltdown in Yankee Stadium, 30 years ago with the famous Pine Tar incident.

Catch me tomorrow morning starting at 8 a.m. on Jefferson City’s KWOS, 950 AM.  I’ll be on with Hal Dulle to talk Cardinals baseball.  If you are on Google+, add me to your circles and please subscribe to my YouTube Channel.
