Alcides Escobar doubled home David Lough from first with one away in the ninth inning Wednesday to give Kansas City a 4-3 victory over Baltimore.

The Orioles took a two-run lead into the bottom of the eighth, but Eric Hosmer tied it with his two-run homer and the Royals came through in the ninth for their second victory in a row over the Orioles.

Wei-Yin Chen singled with one out in the Kansas City eighth before Hosmer hit his home run to right-center, his second of the game and 11th of the season. Hosmer also homered in the first inning.

The late comeback gave the win to Luke Hochevar (3-1), who worked the top of the ninth. Ervin Santana gave up three runs on seven hits in an eight-inning effort.

Kansas City’s ninth-inning run came off Darren O’Day (5-1).
