Secretary of State Jason Kander today reminded Missourians to enter photos in the “Remembering Harry” Blue Book photo contest before the 5 p.m. deadline Monday, July 29.

Entries, which may be submitted by mail or email, should draw on one or more themes found in three categories, all quotations from President Harry Truman, whom the contest honors:

  1. “Carry the battle to them.” — Photographs of sporting events and competitions in Missouri.
  2. “The most peaceful thing in the world is plowing a field.” — Photographs of Missouri agriculture and natural settings.
  3. “I don’t believe in little plans.” — Photographs of unique celebrations and parades in Missouri.

Winning photographs will be published with full credit to the photographer in the Blue Book, formally known as the 2013–2014 Official Manual, State of Missouri, scheduled for release at the end of this year. Additionally, all submissions will join the permanent collection of the Missouri State Archives.

Entry forms and additional information are available at www.sos.mo.gov/photocontest.
