Blues Hitchcock to help coach Canada in Olympics

St. Louis Blues Head Coach Ken Hitchcock has been named an Assistant Coach for Team Canada for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Joining Hitchcock from the Blues staff will be General Manager Doug Armstrong, who is Canada’s Associate Director of Player Personnel. Detroit Head Coach Mike Babcock will return as Head Coach.

Hitchcock was Canada’s Head Coach at the 2008 World Championships, and was also named an Associate Coach at the 2002, 2006 and 2010 Olympic Games, and at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey.

While with the Blues, he has the best winning percentage for a Head Coach in franchise history at .671, with a record of 72-32-13).
