The St. Louis Blues and restricted free-agent forward Chris Stewart avoided arbitration on Friday, agreeing to a two-year contract.

The 25-year-old Stewart played in all 48 games for the Blues last season, registering 18 goals and 18 assists. He had one assist in St. Louis’ first- round playoff loss to Los Angeles.

Selected in the first round (18th overall) by Colorado in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Stewart has totaled 100 goals and 102 assists in 319 career games with the Avalanche and Blues.
