Defensive back E.J. Gaines was the lone Missouri Tiger selected by the media for their preseason All-SEC team, that was announced early Thursday morning on the final day of the three day SEC Media Days event in Birmingham, AL.

Gaines, a 5’10, 195 pound, senior from Independence, really came on late last year for the Tigers secondary.  He led the team with 11 pass break ups and finish 4th on the squad with a career-high 74 tackles.  He ended the season with 10 tackles and added two pass break ups and an interception at Texas A&M.

Gaines will be a three year starter, who won 1st-Team All-Big 12 honors two years ago in his first year as a starting cornerback.
