The Royals won back to back games for the first time since May 4-5, by scoring four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally for a 7-3 win over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday night.
Eric Hosmer broke the 3-3 tie when he singled home Alex Gordon who led off the eighth with a double. After a fielder’s choice got Hosmer out at second, Billy Butler doubled home Salvador Perez. Two batters later with two outs, Lorenzo Cain homered. It was Cain’s second of the season.
Wade Davis allowed three unearned runs before the Royals bullpen took over. Luke Hochevar, Tim Collins (who got the win, now 2-1) and Greg Holland combined for four scoreless innings to wrap up the victory.
