The Royals snapped their franchise record streak of home losses by taking down the Minnesota Twins 4-1. Jeremy Guthrie improves to 6-3, after settling down following a first inning run by Minnesota.

Aaron Crow got the Royals out of a bases-loaded jam in the seventh inning, and Greg Holland put the first two runners aboard in the ninth before striking out Justin Morneau, Ryan Doumit and Chris Parmelee for his 10th save of the season. The last time the Royals scored four or more runs and won at home? April 30th, 8-2 win over the Rays.

The Royals answered that Minnesota run in the bottom half when Eric Hosmer reached second on an error and Salvador Perez drove him in with a single. Former Cardinals pitcher P.J. Walters (2-1) walked the bases loaded, and David Lough’s two-run double with two down provided enough runs. Billy Butler added an RBI single in the seventh.
