Mizzou golf’s Leroux up for coach of the year award

June 6, 2013 By Bill Pollock

Missouri Men’s Golf Coach Mark Leroux was named one of six finalists for the National Coach of the Year Award. This comes after Dixon, Missouri native Jace Long was named to the All-Central Region team earlier this week. Leroux has been the coach since 2004 and has led Mizzou to 18 tournament victories.

Leroux now joins wrestling coach Brian Smith (2007), Gary Pinkel (2007), softball coach Ehren Earleywine (2009, 2010 and 2012 NFCA Midwest Staff of the Year) and Frank Haith (2012) as Tiger coaches to earn regional and national recognition since 2007.  Leroux is a finalist along with Steve Desimone (California); Derek Freeman (UCLA); Glen Millican (New Mexico); Herb Page (Kent State) and Jay Seawell (Alabama).

The winner of the 2013 Dave Williams Award will be announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America in late June.
