Oran claims Class 1 baseball title

Oran beat Sante Fe 8-4 to win the Class 1 baseball title in O’Fallon on Wednesday. Oran scored eight runs in the fifth inning to rally from a 4-0 deficit. Sante Fe put up their runs in the first two innings off Kody Moore, who picked up the win and went 2 for 4 with two RBIs at the plate.  In the Class 1 third place game, Sturgeon defeated Dadeville 5-2.  Ryan Seidel held Dadeville to three hits in 6.1 innings.

Hartville faces West Platte today in the Class 2 final. Holcomb and Canton’s third place game was cancelled.   The Class 3 semifinal games scheduled for today are New Madrid County Central (15-14) vs. Springfield Catholic (22-4), and Hallsville (14-11) vs. Fatima (21-5).  There is 50% chance of scattered storms on Thursday.
