Haith adds Baylor transfer, Duece Bello

May 21, 2013 By Bill Pollock

Former Baylor swingman Deuce Bello, will transfer to Mizzou, and have two years of eligibility remaining after he sits out the upcoming 2013-14 season. Bello, 6’4, averaged 2.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 10.9 minutes per game as a sophomore last season.

Bello told Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star, “I just feel like the coaching staff is good, and I’ve been cool with (associate coach) Tim (Fuller) for a while,” Bello said. “At Baylor, we played Mizzou three times and I like their style of play. They get up and down the floor and press. Plus I’ve been on the campus so I know what it’s like.”

Bello, who weighs 187 pounds, would like to get up to 205, and while he was used primarily as a defensive specialist with the Bears, he says Mizzou sees more in him that just defense.  That was appealing to Bello, plus he said he likes the way the Tigers play having faced them three times two seasons ago.  He also likes the campus.
