National Guardsmen return from clearing roadside bombs in Afghanistan

The National Guard’s 1138th Engineer battalion is back home after nine months of clearing roadside bombs away from highways in Afghanistan. The unit is based in Farmington. The unit removed more than 70 bombs from about 25 roads. Four members of the unit earned Purple Hearts. One was sent home early after stepping on a mine.
