The St. Louis Blues failed to clinch a playoff spot in the Western Conference after losing to the Colorado Avalanche for the eighth time in a row in Denver, following Sunday’s 5-3 loss. The Blues still sit in a good position with just three home games left on the regular season schedule, but the big question is which seed will the Blues clinch?
They currently sit in sixth place, a point behind San Jose and three behind Los Angeles for fourth place. The Blues hold a six point lead over Detroit and Dallas (tied for ninth) with the Red Wings capable of a maximum of eight points.
The Blues finish up with the Avs and Calgary on Tuesday and Thursday, before wrapping up with Chicago in the season finale on Sunday. The Blues have to find a way to score. The three goals they netted on Sunday were the most since a 3-1 win over Columbus back on April 5…a string of eight games with two or fewer goals.
